Come learn more about the fascinating story of Purple Martins in Minnesota. Angela Grill, Wildlife Supervisor at Three Rivers Parks, will present about the unique bird and the houses where they live.
Following the presentation in the French Visitor Center we will walk along a paved path to the purple martin houses near Medicine Lake (about 10-minute walk). You can observe the birds feeding on insects above the water and listen to their bubbly calls and songs.
Good to Know:
The meeting room is located on the second floor of French Visitor Center. There is an elevator.
The French Visitor Center is ADA accessible. The path from the visitor center to the Purple Martin Houses is paved.
Please dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes.
Bathrooms are available on the first floor of French Visitor Center. Drinking fountains are available on both floors of French Visitor Center.
Angela Grill graduated from Minnesota State University – Mankato with degrees in ecology and geography. She has a passion for being outdoors and ensuring conservation of the natural heritage of our lands. As a wildlife supervisor at Three Rivers Park District, she enjoys working on a wide range of projects from restoring prairies to pollinator surveys.
